For our next LD History Night, Ann will bring the revolutionary years of the English Civil War to life, exploring why it broke out, what was at stake, and how it shaped both the nation and the lives of ordinary people. ![]()
With a special focus on Lichfield’s extraordinary role, the talk will uncover the city’s wartime experiences, including the intense sieges of Lichfield Cathedral, a building that still bears the scars of conflict today. ![]()
You’ll hear how politics, religion, and personal loyalties tore communities apart, and how cities like Lichfield stood at the crossroads of national upheaval. ![]()
